The Academic Summer Scholarships were born the day we found out a beloved Title 1 summer camp had been canceled, and the students we'd planned to volunteer with suddenly had nowhere to go.
Instead of accepting that, we decided to raise funds so low-income students could attend high-quality private programs, including the Summer Success Institute. These scholarships do more than "keep kids busy." They open doors to rigorous reading and math instruction, small-group support, and hands-on projects that build confidence and leadership.
A scholarship can cover tuition, materials, and fees that would otherwise shut families out. For a rising 4th or 5th grader, it can mean discovering they actually love writing, or finally feeling caught up in math before school starts again. For donors, each gift is incredibly tangible - you're not just supporting a program in theory; you're literally putting a named student into a classroom they would never reach on their own and protecting them from summer learning loss.
